Valkyrie Yao has been selected for the 2026 Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Choreography. During Session 2 of the 2026 residency season, she will join an interdisciplinary cohort of artists for a period of focused creative research, development, and exchange on Djerassi’s land in Woodside, California.
The residency will support Yao’s continued development of choreographic and research-based performance work, with attention to embodied memory, site, ritual structure, and the ways movement can hold historical and cultural residue.
